If you don\u2019t, you won\u2019t have access to all the valuable features \u2014 and who wouldn\u2019t want those?<\/p>\n<p>A business profile simply means that you get an extended version of your profile, and it\u2019s completely free.<br \/>\nWith this profile, you can:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>See analytics about your users (for example, when they\u2019re most active)<\/li>\n<li>View which posts perform best<\/li>\n<li>Offer expanded contact options, such as location and route planning<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As mentioned, it\u2019s free. You can upgrade by clicking the small gear icon at the top of your Instagram profile \u2014 there, you\u2019ll find the option.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Audiences_based_on_interactions\"><\/span>Audiences based on interactions<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>This is highly relevant if you have a strong brand or presence on Instagram.<\/p>\n<p>Several brands I follow are much stronger on Instagram than on other platforms like Facebook.<br \/>\nThe same goes for bloggers and celebrities \u2014 making it extremely relevant that Instagram ad targeting has become more detailed.<\/p>\n<p>When choosing this type of audience, you can split your ads into multiple segments for further targeting.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Types of audience segmentation under Instagram engagement:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Everyone who has interacted with your Instagram business profile<\/li>\n<li>Everyone who has visited your Instagram business profile<\/li>\n<li>Everyone who has interacted with a post or ad on Instagram<\/li>\n<li>Everyone who has sent you a message on Instagram<\/li>\n<li>Everyone who has saved a post or ad on Instagram<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can then choose the time interval.<\/p>\n<p>However, keep in mind that even if you select 365 days, the data only goes back to the start of the summer. That\u2019s because Facebook only recently began using this data for audience targeting.<\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Your_turn_%E2%80%93_do_you_use_Instagram_in_your_marketing\"><\/span>Your turn \u2013 do you use Instagram in your marketing?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>As a marketing consultant, Instagram isn\u2019t always the most relevant marketing channel for me.<\/p>\n<p>As I\u2019ve mentioned in other blog posts, it\u2019s important not to spread your efforts too thin \u2014 especially if you don\u2019t have the resources to support it. It\u2019s better to focus on the platforms that make the most sense for your business.<\/p>\n<p>I personally have a private Instagram profile where I combine both my personal life and business \u2014 and that works well for me.<\/p>\n<p>Do you use Instagram for your business, and have you tested their ad platform?
