What’s the difference between Google Ads and organic results?

The difference between organic results and Google Ads is that Google Ads are paid advertising—organic results are not.

These are two different marketing approaches, but they work well together if your goal is to increase visibility in search engines.

Google Ads are paid ads that appear on Google—typically at the top of the page when you perform a search. The results that are not labeled as ads are referred to as organic results.

Where your business appears in the organic search results depends on how well your website is optimized for SEO. Your content is considered SEO-friendly if it includes selected, highly relevant keywords. If your texts are SEO-optimized, your website will receive a better placement in Google’s search results.

That improved ranking is due to Google’s assessment that your page offers relevant results for the given search query.

Combining Google Ads and organic results increases your online presence

You likely want your business to be visible in search engines—and combining Google Ads with organic results is a smart way to achieve that.

When you combine your organic SEO traffic with paid Google Ads, your overall online visibility increases significantly. Google Ads deliver fast results, while SEO helps you build long-term organic visibility. Together, they create a stronger digital presence.
